The Sumatran tiger is Critically endangered on the red list, population estimated at 441 to 679 individuals.  Major threats include habitat loss due to expansion of palm oil plantations.  They are losing their habitat, prey loss and poaching shows no sign of decline.  They are holding on for survival in the remaining patches of forest on the island of Sumatra.
